Junior Reporter/Editorial Assistant/Internship – Finance (PT/FT)

We are an Emerging Markets focused financial news and research platform seeking reporters.

This is an exciting entry level position for someone with a passion for finance and is genuinely interested in emerging markets.

Coverage will include private equity, debt, regulation, risk management and general investment news.

The role would suit an existing reporter that is looking to branch into financial journalism.

Recent graduates and current students in Journalism, English or Literature, will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting online news, print publications, events and videos
  • Managing interview calls, including transcriptions
  • Ensuring editorial calendar and deadlines are adhered to
  • Writing news and analysis stories, to tight deadlines
  • Supporting the production of magazines, reports, videos and events
  • Liaising with writers to monitor timescales
  • Dealing with editorial administrative work
  • Organising and researching projects to tight deadlines
  • Correcting written copy and summarising material
  • Obtaining rights to use materials from other publications
  • Dealing with phone and email queries
  • Filing, mailing, photocopying and other routine administrative tasks
  • Assisting in the production of videos
  • Supporting business development

Requirements

  • A degree in either English, Literature or Journalism
  • Current students in Journalism or English must have relevant experience
  • Previous writing experience is desired
  • Hardworking, with professional attitude
  • Evidence of ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Previous business writing experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • A keen interest in business and finance
  • A high level of numeracy, with ability to work with data
  • Enthusiasm, initiative, interpersonal skills, self-motivation and flexibility
  • Attention to detail and ability to proofread
  • Time management skills, with ability to keep to tight deadlines
